Karel,Roman, Svetlana,
I had a great time at the corvette praha show, and I am writing this letter
to say thank you for a great time. I am sharing with you the letter I have
sent to all my american friends in Europe and America to show that one of
the best corvette meetings is with the corvette praha club!
See you next year!
Regards,
Marc Macaspac
hello everyone,
Just got back from the Corvette Club Prague meeting and have this to
report...
The staff is wonderful and friendly. They do have english speaker(Roman
albrecht) and several members willing to translate. I am great friends with
them now and be a point of contact in the future...Karel and Sveltlana would
really love to have our club over next year.
They give out many trophies for different categories!

Cristina wins an award , damske posadka
cost is about 25 euros for the car show, and 40 euros for a DVD which I will
share when they send it to me.
initially everyone meets at an old fairground outside of Prague and for
about 6 hours there is a car show, and everyone is allowed to drive up to
the grandstand and step up to the mic and talk about their car , with a
german and czech translator sharing what you say... a very nice personal
touch for such a large car show!

at about 1600 a cruise through Prague is initiated and nobody gets lost
because of a police escort that stops traffic.

the people of prague and all the tourists line up the streets and it feels
like a high speed parade!!!!

we then go up to the presidential palace and park for 30 minutes and a huge
crowd gathers for picture taking...and its a beautiful site.

people are really friendly everywhere and wave and take pictures!

A beautiful czech girl , Eva asked if she could ride with me, and if her
friend yvette could ride in my other corvette during the cruise and get
dropped off at the palace...she took most of these pictures for me!

I brought both my vettes and had a female friend Cristina drive it and she
won a prize for best female driver (they had alot of trophies for best
female in several categories)

they have alot of models walking around to photograph with your car

after the palace we drove 20 KM to a campsite.

all cars get parked and quite creatively I might add...cars of certain
colors in one spot, customs in one....etc...it was quite a sight!

Svetlana, one of the organizers, had arranged a decent cabin at the site for
us..but for a larger group like our club I would think we would need to
bring the tents or book a hotel in the city and take a taxi there...
food and soft drinks were free at the car show with paid admission...

at the campsite they had a GREAT bbq and fully stocked bar....with
attractive people serving (both male and female)
the price wasnt too bad and our exchange rate with the Krone isnt too bad
yet

lots of drinking and eating...
then the awards presentations which took awhile as there were many trophies
some decided to stay and drink and dance the night away (its a nice camp by
a river). Me and Alex Banker and his GF and my lady friend took a 30 euro
taxi to Prague and went eating and drinking with Eva . Prague stays open all
night for those of you who have not been there.

Next day...
a river cruise boat arrives and picks up anyone who will pay the 20 euros
per person fee to sightsee up the river...
it was a great cruise that went through the heart of the city and drops you
off at the charles bridge..

you are then free to sightsee and a bus is arranged to pick everyone up at
5pm to bring them back to the camp...
overall a great time meeting people and making new friends. I hope this is
something we can take part in next year
